Turn your lights on, Stupid!Posted Sunday, March 22, 2009, at 9:31 PM
I have a few pet peeves I guess. Don't we all?
This one, really gets to me because it's so dangerous. I just can't figure out why people do it (or forget to do it, I should say!). We had some dandy mornings last week that were so FOGGY you could barely find your car, much less the road. As I headed to work on these mornings, I was, once again, amazed by the vehicles I met traveling through the fog with NO lights on. What is wrong with these people? Don't they know how hard it is to see their vehicle (especially the white ones) when the fog is thick as mud? Have they no common sense? I know that others find this as annoying as I do. I heard several of my co-workers talking about this very subject and they weren't happy campers either. Whether it's fog or heavy rain, when I meet a vehicle on the road with no lights on, I want to run them off the road and hand them their "stupid" sign. At least I'd feel safer if they were off the road. And, the stupid excuse, "I'm afraid I won't remember to turn my lights back off," doesn't work either. Wouldn't you rather have a dead battery then be responsible for a deadly wreck? So people, (you know who you are!) from now on, when it's foggy or when it's raining ... TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON when you're driving on the road. Maybe if you can remember these famous words from the famous Forrest Gump, you can remember to respect others on the same road as you -- STUPID IS, AS STUPID DOES! Memorize it. |
