Photos recovered

This blog is for anyone to post items that they have found after the Feb. 5 tornado. If you have found or lost and item, please post a description along with your contact information so that the owners can contact you to retrieve their items. The photos in the slideshow have been taken to Areawide Media's Salem, Ark., office and to claim those photos contact Jessica Goff at 870-895-3207.

Found Items Postings A square color photo with rounded edges, circa '60s or '70s? There is a young blonde boy with a yellow helicopter, a chocolate frosted cake with candles, dark paneling and a partial man with a dark blue shirt and pants. email us at horsesmiths@tek-web.com and we'll get your photo returned to you. ___ Kodak film like Polaroid. Baby on bed with big brown teddy bear. Quilt on bed. Found in Heart in the woods. ___ A laminated 1997 achievement award from Hotchkiss Middle School with the last name of Camp was found in Salem and brought to our office. My wife found a photo of two children, a boy and a girl, about 6 years old standing in front of an Apollo 13 space suit and display. The date on the back of the photo is 8/8/06 and it was developed at Walgreen's. For more information email jnchandl@aim.com. ___ http://s268.photobucket.com/albums/jj5/A.... Found these pictures 4 miles south of Salem. ___ Sue Bicker brought me a photo that her Dad, Carmon Sanders, found on his farm near Viola. She wanted me to help her find the owner. The picture is of a man taking a picture of a little boy. They appear to be in a urban neighborhood on a street with sidewalks, and the trees and grass are green. The little boy may be riding a tricycle or other toy, and the man has dark hair. Thank You and God Bless. ___ I have a stray dog that showed up after the tornado hit. I live on Burnt Ridge Rd. The dog has a metal collar, but the tag is gone. He is black with white under his chin. He looks like a black lab with maybe a possibility of pit bull in it. (That is a maybe.) If you have lost a dog, please leave me a message, or if your not sure but it somewhat sounds like one you're missing, let me know and I will post a picture on here of him. Thanks, Shannon Hoyle. I will email you a pic of the dog. ___ Junior Roberts has found many items on his farm in Billmore. I have talked with him to get a description. You can contact him 417-938-4560. He found: Papers from Highland Window Shop; bill from David Harris Construction in Hardy to a Foster in Elizabeth; an old check signed by someone at Moser Farms; damaged dental papers from Clinton, Ark; A sales slip from Bill Docking in Oxford for an icemaker $20; a check from Jones Lawn Service in Cherokee Village; fire reports written by a Ray or Roy Oldt, at Highland; a light blue photo album with 3 photos remaining. One photo is b/w with table and vase with flowers and cards around. A pepsi can and camera are nearby. Second and third photos are of people near trees. A little girl is in a blue bathing suit holding a watermelon, and people standing up in the background. ___ Found photo of two men with 2 trophies ___ A professional family photo was found north of Hardy. (Mom, Dad and two small boys) The father has grayish hair combed back, mother has long dark curly hair, two boys are brown headed wearing "Cars" T-shirts. All are dressed in red shirts and jeans. I can send a copy through email if the description sounds familiar to you. Email cbeard@highland.k12.ar.us. ___ A picture was found around the Wideman, AR, area of several girls at a ballpark thought to be in Flippin, AR. If anyone knows about his picture I will gladly return it to the owner. Contact Paula at 870-421-4458. ___ We live near the Hardy area and a female brown chow dog appeared at our mail box after the tornado. She appears to be well taken care of and is well behaved. We have debris on our land and thought she might be displaced from the tornado. We have her at the house. We will need proof of ownership and would love to find her owner. The photo appears to be taken late 1970's or early '80s. Grandpa has a grey beard, rounded and down to his chest, wears glasses and was balding on the forehead and an average build. Grandma is a heavier set woman holding an infant while bottle feeding him. The young boy in the foreground looks to be about 8 or 9 years old in the picture and has a brown checkered shirt on. There is a pink phone on the desk next to them. Black and white pictures on the wall behind them. The photos on the wall appear to be group photos. If it sounds familiar, contact me. I can scan and e-mail. Butch ___ Framed (painted) burgandy "quilt square" with wire stung across top for hanging. Highland, FM 101 area 870.856.3001 ___ Found Sunday night 2/17. Small dog, looks to be mostly Dachsund but is lighter color and has longer legs. Has long body of Dachsund. Found off Peace Valley Rd in Ash Flat about 3 miles west of Post Office. I'm back in the woods so she may have been wandering for awhile before finding her way here but doesn't seem malnourished. Call Bruce 870-321-0957 to identify and claim. ___ Buford and Sue Hancock of Wheeling found a 40-year-old post card a week after recent storms cut through Arkansas. The post card displayed a 1960s era jumbo jet and was addressed to Clinton, one of several cities hit by the recent tornados. Contact Jessica at 800-995-3209 if this is your photo. ___ Found in north Ripley County, MO. Pic 1: dated 1986- 3-5-year-old boy wearing a big cowboy hat sitting on a horse. Pic 2: man and two teen agers standing on a dam, text on back "Walter, Ashley & Matthwew 2003" These pics were mailed to Highland City Hall. ___ My husband found a marriage license on our farm the day after the tornado; the names are Alfred Ray Johnson & Kimberly Diane Shaver of Melbourne, dated December 20th, 1996. We live 10 miles east of Thayer off Hwy 142 on county road 250. I can leave this marriage license at the Areawide Media office in Thayer. We found lots of papers, receipts, & debris; 3 pictures also. I will leave the pictures at the office when I take in the marriage license. ___ Lost Items Postings Lions Club lost its award banner which was in the Timberline Restaurant. It has a Purple background with gold lace trim and award patches on it. If found please call 257-2515. ___ The Brittains in Mountain View lost many items from their home in the tornado. Some of the things lost include framed pictures of WWII era Blytheville Courier-News, Civil War era picture of Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest, quilts, etc. Call 269-2567. ___ I have a 16 ft Ouachita fishing boat missing from the First Landmark Baptist Church parsonage at 2117 Hwy 62-412, Highland, Ar, 72542.
