  • Having grown up in an area where the Germans vs. the Danish, American Lutheran vs. Zion Lutheran... and in a family that was none of the above... I have seen the Us vs. Them syndrome at *really stupid* levels.

I hope you'll excuse my archaic expletive, but E-GADS!

If you go back through history, pretty much every ethnic group has taken their turns, whether in general or in piece-meal, as "One of Them" and/or "One of Us".

And you know... those Thems, who ever they are at the moment, are always evil or inferior in some way. Just have a look at the propaganda of any time, from any culture, from any geographic location.

    Even right here, right now.

Oh... except the Rich. They have their own classification. They make sure of it. After all, they control most forms of media because they own it and/or support it with advertizing dollars. (Wait a minute... I'm pointing out a "Them"... Oopsie!)

I remember when Bobby Kennedy was shot. I thought then that anybody would have to be insane to be a politician.

Since then I haven't seen any evidence to the contrary.

---I was pretty young then, and I pretty much saw anyone, who spoke long and loud about what people should do, and about how things could be better, on the T.V., as a politician. (My earliest recollection about politicians is John Kennedy's speachifying...)---

And here you're asking for a leader with common sense?

Hmmm... Are swine improving their aerodynamic issues?
