  • Time doesn't actually stand still in the Ozarks, it just moves a heck of a lot slower.

This suits me fine. I want to be in Mammoth Spring when the world ends because everything happens twenty five years later in Mammoth Spring.

A lot of folks snivel because Congress doesn't work, well when Congress did work we got legislation fit for a king, B.O. did not write the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that was the genius of Congress. B.O. just signed it. Now just how strong a military do you really want.

The last time Congress passed indefinite detention legislation was during the McCarthy era, and President Truman had the courage to veto that bill.

Obama's presidency can be summed up by asking:

You got what you wanted America, now do you want what you got? You can ask the same about Congress in a few more years and I will bet my farm your answer will be the same.

  • Every President since Nixon has issued Executive Orders, bypassing Congress, that have centralized more power to control the citizens of the USA.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 10990 -- allows the government to take over control of all highways and seaports.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 10995 -- allows the government to seize and control the communication media.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 10997 -- allows the government to take over all electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels and minerals.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 10998 -- allows the government to take over all food resources and farms.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 10999 -- allows the government to take over all modes of transportation, private or public, including your car.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11000 -- allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11001 -- allows the government to take over all health, education and welfare functions.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11002 -- designates the Postmaster General to operate a national registration of all persons.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11003 -- allows the government to take over all airports and aircraft, including commercial aircraft.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11004 -- allows the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate communities, build new housing with public funds, designate areas to be abandoned, and establish new locations for populations.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11005 -- allows the government to take over railroads, inland waterways and public storage facilities.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11051 -- specifies the responsibility of the Office of Emergency Planning and gives authorization to put all Executive Orders into effect in times of increased international tensions and economic or financial crisis.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11310 -- grants authority to the Department of Justice to enforce the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute industrial support, to establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, to operate penal and correctional institutions, and to advise and assist the President.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11049 -- assigns emergency preparedness function to federal departments and agencies, consolidating 21 operative Executive Orders issued over a fifteen year period.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11921 -- allows the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency to develop plans to establish control over the mechanisms of production and distribution, of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit and the flow of money in U.S. financial institution in any undefined national emergency. It also provides that when a state of emergency is declared by the President, Congress cannot review the action for six months. The Federal Emergency Management Agency has broad powers in every aspect of the nation.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11990 -- appointed the National Security Council as the principal body that should consider emergency powers. This allows the government to increase domestic intelligence and surveillance of U.S. citizens and would restrict the freedom of movement within the United States and grant the government the right to isolate large groups of civilians. The National Guard could be federalized to seal all borders and take control of U.S. air space and all ports of entry.

These are just a few of the Executive Orders that would suspend the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

These Executive Orders have been on record for nearly 30 years and could be enacted by the stroke of a Presidential pen.

President Obama has also added to the above executive orders creating additional infringements on our individual freedom and civil liberty.

We are no longer a democracy and it gets worse every day under Obama's unilateral proclamations and executive actions.

Some quotes by previous U.S. Presidents (founding fathers) who seemed to understand the true role of government.

George Washington (U.S. President #1) -- "Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master."

John Adams (U.S. President #2) -- "Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide."

Thomas Jefferson (U.S. President #3) -- "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."

James Madison (U.S. President #4) -- "I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations."

James Monroe (U.S. President #5) -- "It is only when the people become ignorant and corrupt, when they degenerate into a populace, that they are incapable of exercising their sovereignty."

John Quincy Adams (U.S. President #6) -- "You will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you make good use of it."

Andrew Jackson (U.S. President #7) -- "The duty of government is to leave commerce to its own capital and credit as well as all other branches of business, protecting all in their legal pursuits, granting exclusive privileges to none."

Martin Van Buren (U.S. President #8) -- "The less government interferes with private pursuits, the better the general prosperity."

Abraham Lincoln (U.S. President #16) -- "America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

Freedom is never free -- we elect leaders who recklessly squander our wealth and slowly deny us our freedom.

"Mystical references to society and its programs to help may warm the hearts of the gullible but what it really means is putting more power in the hands of bureaucrats." Thomas Sowell

The lack of government leads to chaos -- excessive government leads to servitude.

The U.S. democracy was set up with checks and balances to insure a proper balance of common interests and protection of individual freedom.

We have strayed far from a proper balance.

  • The pathetic part about executive orders is that the National Guard, Army, FBI, CIA, state, and local police I fear, will be more than happy to enforce said orders, if asked to do so.
