  • Who built the composting toilet? Where did you get the plans? Do you need any city/county license?

    I admire your spirit and I like your commentary. This is a once in a lifetime experience and it seems like you had what it takes.

    How did a NY gal choose this neck of the woods?

  • We built the composting toilets using plans from a Mother Earth News magazine article. It works great and has surprisingly little smell. We ended up here because my husband, who was born in Louisiana, often came up to the Ozarks to visit his mom's family who lived here when he was a kid, and he always loved it here. I'm so glad we made this home - after all the places we've lived, this is the prettiest place with the nicest neighbors. And two hoorays for the slower pace. :-)
