  • The idea that we can stop Iran from getting a nuke is obtuse and full of hubris. Iran is surrounded by countries with nukes. I think Ron Paul was right on with his answer. We just can't afford to try to tell people what they can or can't build by bombing preemptively.

We were warned about not invading Iraq, look how that turned out. Now everyone wants to crow about Iran, and the threat is so dubious.

  • @AntiNeocon,

"Iran is surrounded by countries with nukes."

Last I heard the nuke club consists of us (US), Russia [since the USSR is dismantled we'll have to include Ukraine] Great Britain, France, India, Pakistan, North Korea, China and (though they've never actually tested) very probably Israel.

Which of those countries shares a border with Iran?

  • I don't know if that matters, H Ducker, because those things can really move.

  • No disagreement there. And actually I did leave an obvious opening you know. If one includes any ICBMs aboard SSBNs and an SSBN is in the Persian Gulf or the Indian Ocean...
