  • Teacher?

I've been an avid fan of Derbyshire or years. Unfortunately or him (and me, maybe you) the written - in John's case, typed - word isn't capable of imparting a sliver of "tongue-in-cheek."

This link has been long bookmarked on my computer, and 'cause it may not long last since Mr. Derbyshire's firing... click and enjoy his inimitable broadcasts. Pick a broadcast, click "listen" but as I usually do, download the mp3 file rather than the simple listen option. The latter is sometimes truncated.

  • Oops. This keyboard's "F" key is sticky. Apologies, guess I should proofread.

  • No problem, HDucker. I often send things out without proofreading, so it may be part of the human condition. Thanks for the Derbyshire links and I wish you the best.

  • Welcome Teacher,

An aside, I've a friend who exchanges emails with Mr. Derbyshire who informs me that in his opinion, "John's suffering from lymphoma and perhaps he simply decided to say what needed to be said before..."

My friend informs me he is awaiting a response to his query, "Why did you choose to saw off the limb you (Derbyshire) were sitting on?"

Too, the media is mostly reporting John is a Brit. True enough, far as it goes. However some years ago Mr. Derbyshire legally emigrated to the US. Just over a decade ago, he went through the process and took the oath of allegiance becoming a US Citizen.
