Meth ingredients found at Bend residence (12/05/02)
A 33-year-old Horseshoe Bend man was arrested Nov. 30 after officers raided a methamphetamine lab at 1309 West Ridge Street in Horseshoe Bend. Authorities conducted a search at the residence of Jerry Lee Alberson at the request of Alberson's parole/probation officer, Kenny Kendrick. Kendrick received a tip that components for a methamphetamine lab could be found at Alberson's residence, said Dustin Robbins, 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force investigator...
Salem Board increases salaries (12/05/02)
The Salem School Board approved salary increases for the 2002-03 school year for both certified and classified personnel at the meeting Nov. 25. The increases were approved after Superintendent Bob Foster recommended to the board to add $1,000 to the base of the certified salary schedule with $500 to be paid in December and the remainder in May. Foster also recommended a 3 percent raise be given to classified personnel and paid in December...

Land Commissioner Charlie Daniels conducted an auction of Fulton County tax delinquent properties Dec. 3 at Fulton County Courthouse and reported the sale of 14 parcels, collecting $8,734.95 in revenue for Fulton County and state government. A total of 12 bidders attended the sale, which is held annually by the state to dispose of land for which taxes have been past due for over four years...
