16th Judicial Prosecuting Attorney Don McSpadden filed a petition for revocation of bond April 15 after former Horseshoe Bend treasurer and accused rapist Chuck Simmons failed to report for a mental evaluation. Simmons, 48, charged with two counts of rape in May 2001, was scheduled to appear before Circuit Judge John Dan Kemp April 29 after he missed the court-ordered mental evaluation. GRAND GULF -- Grand Gulf Shiloh Church located near Koshkonong received a blessing recently from a local young man in the Navy aboard the USS Kittyhawk. Viola man dies in truck fire (05/01/03)
The body of a man recovered April 23 from the sleeper of a 1998 Peterbilt truck has been positively identified as Danny Dupler, 42, of Viola, said Fulton County Sheriff Lloyd Martz. Dupler was a mechanic. Deputy Brad Schaufler was on routine patrol when he observed smoke coming from a shop building used as a garage located six miles north of Viola on Highway 223.
