Mammoth Spring School budget increases (09/20/07)
MAMMOTH SPRING -- The Mammoth Spring School Board met in regular session Sept. 10 in the board meeting room. Superintendent Ron Taylor told board members the budget for the 2007-2008 school year will be $3,139,937. He said this budget is up $68,000 from last year. "The price of nearly all the services used at the school has increased. It is going to be very hard for us to stay within this budget but we are going to have to try," he said...

The Couch School Board met in regular session Sept. 10 with all members present. School board members voted to give all Couch School employees a $500 salary increase. They also voted to apply for a 2007-08 FEMA grant. Superintendent Tom Bull informed the board that the paperwork expenses to pay off the bond issue early would cost more than the savings in interest. The board voted to rescind the motion to pay off the bond issue early and to pay at the maturity of the bond in March, 2008...
