One percent sales tax passes in Cherokee Village (09/14/11)
Cherokee Village passes one percent sales tax at Sept. 13 election in Sharp County. According to Tara Draper with the Sharp County Clerk's office, the tax unofficially passed by a 10 vote margin, 391 to 381. The tax will help Cherokee Village's revenue and will be charged on purchases, point of delivery items as well as services rendered within the city.
