While retailers nationwide reported increases in Black Friday sales this year, local merchants said consumer purchases were slightly less than or equal to 2010 Thanksgiving weekend sales. Library completes expansion (12/04/11)
A year and a half after receiving a grant for a children's annex to the Hardy Library, the newly completed library celebrated with an Open House Nov. 18, as the public and local officials were invited to tour the expansion. In April, 2010, Hardy Mayor Nina Thornton received permission from the White River Library board to write and apply for the grant to fund the 1,500 square feet expansion, increasing the library's total size to approximately 4,500 square feet. ...
