Amy Harrington of Alton was selected Feb. 13 from among 17 applicants interviewed by the Alton City Council to replace City Clerk Sherri Orr, who resigned to be home with her family. Orr will spend about two more weeks training Harrington for the job. Harrington is a native of Peachland, N.C., where she was a bank teller.
