Fire destroys mobile home (07/05/12)
A mobile home on Sanders Street in Salem was gutted by fire on Thursday, June 28. While firefighters arrived in minutes, the home was burning out of control and could not be saved. Fishing in the Coal Pile area of the lower Arkansas River, David Shopher of McGehee caught a 6.27-pound largemouth bass to take the overall lead Sunday and win the 2012 Arkansas Big Bass Bonanza.
