Highway 9 bridges being replaced in Oxford (08/29/12)
Temporary roads have been installed on Highway 9 South to by-pass three bridges in the Oxford area, so that new bridges can be built. At this site, near the Izard-Fulton County line, the old bridge has been demolished and construction on the new bridge is underway. Local woman arrested on arson charges (08/29/12)
A string of suspicious fires kept area fire departments busy for hours on Wednesday, Aug. 15, and Thursday, Aug. 16, and the identity of the alleged arsonist was a second shock to the community. Sharon Maguffee, a well known Salem resident, was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 16, after being interviewed by investigators at the Fulton County Sheriff's office. She has been charged with four counts of Arson and one count of Reckless Burning...
