Thayer bank robber pleads guilty

Nearly one year after the Great Southern Bank in Thayer was robbed for approximately $2,000, Bobby L. Yates, 26, of Arlington, Tenn., has pleaded guilty to the crime. The plea agreement included the government recommending a sentence of five years in federal prison without parol, plus restitution feeds of $2,325 to be paid to the bank. Yates is being held in federal custody while awaiting his sentencing date, which has yet to be announced...
