A.L. Hoaney, 71, of Judsonia, formerly of Evening Shade died Dec. 15, 2005, at the White County Medical Center in Searcy. He was born Aug. 4, 1934, at Evening Shade to Columbus Shelby and Bunis Rogers Hoaney. He was a United States Army veteran, retired as the president and CEO of the Bank of Evening Shade after 43 years of service, and was a member of the United Meth-odist Church of Evening Shade.
Survivors include his wife, Macel Hoaney of the home; one daughter, Karla Mize of Judsonia; one sister, Beulah Qualls of Evening Shade; two grandchildren, Tyler Mize and Bethany Mize, both of Judsonia; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Faye Graddy and Jean Dilly.
Funeral services were Dec. 18 at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Morris and Johnny Carter officiating. Burial followed in the Campground Cemetery located north of Evening Shade with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Mike Higginbottom, Robert Hutchison, Mike Sharp, Kevin Qualls, Chris Qualls and Ronnie Qualls.
Honorary pallbearers were board members of Bank of Cave City, Laddie Sharp, Tom Bolt, Jimmy Little, Jim Covington and his brothers-in-law.
