Anna Mae Hampton was born Dec. 31, 1917, the daughter of James Olen Rosier and Delphia Warren Rosier in Salem, Ark. She died Sept. 7, 2007, at the age of 89.
She was united in marriage to Oren O'Dell. She was later united in marriage to James M. Hampton who preceded her in death Feb. 25, 1980.Besides being a homemaker, she was a farmer and enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. She was of the Baptist faith.Survivors include: three children, James Guy O'Dell and wife, Betty of West Plains, Mo., James Larry Hampton and wife, Sharron of West Plains, and Betty Ann Hertzler and husband, Waymon of Highland, Ark.; six grandchildren, James Guy O'Dell Jr., Kathy Ann Parker, David O'Dell, Carla Garrison, Janet Ball and Bradley Hertzler; seven great-grandchildren, Cassandra O'Dell, Austin Garrison, Reece Garrison, Ryan Ball, Evan Ball, Chase Martin and Brody Martin; two sisters, Oneta Oliver and husband, Frank of Gum Springs, Ark., and Mae Reasons of West Plains; several nieces; and nephews.She was preceded in death by: her parents; her grandparents, Lou and David Rosier, by whom she was raised; her husband, James M. Hampton; one daughter, Patsy Ann O'Dell; one granddaughter, Paula Martin; one brother, D.B. Rosier; two sisters, Pauline Wood and Mary Lou Brison; a special aunt, Freda Felts; and other aunts and uncles.Services were held Sept. 9 at Shiloh Grand Gulf Church in Thayer, Mo., with Rev. Dennis Williams officiating. Burial followed in the Shiloh Grand Gulf Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.Pallbearers were James Guy O'Dell Jr., Wes Garrison, Floyd Wickins, David O'Dell, Bobby Ball and Mike Ward.Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandchildren.
