Augusta Marie LaFollett, 81, of Horseshoe Bend died Dec. 19, 2005, in Cherokee Village. She was born Oct. 31, 1924, in Peoria, Ill., the daughter of Fred and Lena Gerzema. She moved to Horseshoe Bend with her husband in 1979 from Edwards, Ill.
She worked as a volunteer at the North Arkansas Life Care Center in Horseshoe Bend for many years. She was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn White of Edwards, Ill.; three sons, Larry Tomlinson of Eldorado Springs, Mo., Loren Tomlinson of Chillicothe, Ill., and Jimmy LaFollett of Peoria, Ill.; two brothers, Raymond Crider of Oregon, and Richard Crider of California; two sisters, Albertina Salmons of Mesquite, Texas, and Glenna Zimmerman of Little Rock; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harlan E. LaFollette; one son, Robert LaFollett; and her step-father, Burt Crider.
Memorial services were held Dec. 23 at Franklin Baptist Church in Franklin with pastor Robert Norton officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
