Mildred Ruth Anderson, 96, of Springfield, Mo., formerly of Cherokee Village, died March 6, 2002.
Born June 3, 1905, at Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Carl August and Hulda Sophia Rose Anderson. On July 7, 1934, she married Richard C. Anderson at Burlington. She was a retired teacher, a graduate of August-ana College of Rock Island, Ill., and a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Springfield.
Survivors include two daughters -- Joyce Wise of Springfield, and Shirley Tranquil of Chapel Hill, N.C.; a brother, Chester W. Anderson of Peoria, Ariz.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; and two sisters.
A memorial service was March 8 at Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village. A family memorial and celebration of her life will follow in June in Springfield with a gathering of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
