He was united in marriage March 16, 1940, in Williford, Ark., to Bessie Cooper.
He was employed by Frisco Railroad for 39 years. He was a good-hearted person, loved by all and never knew a stranger. He enjoyed fishing and loved being with his family and friends.
He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church in West Memphis, Ark., for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie of the home in Springfield, Mo.; four daughters -- Joyce Deeds and husband, Robert, of Springfield, Alice Maxwell of Farmington, Minn., Linda Shannon of Harlem, Ga., and Sharon Gosa and husband, Preston, of Marion, Ark.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Charles Truman Lowe; three brothers -- Lee, Shelby and John Lowe; one sister, Mary Gann; and two sons-in-law -- Preston Maxwell and Bobby Shannon.
Funeral services were June 8 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Rev. Don Tabor officiating. Burial was in Hardy Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.
