Betty Lou Arwood, 72, of Cherokee Village, formerly of Memphis, died Aug. 27, 2002, at her home.
Born Nov. 5, 1929, in Memphis, she was the daughter of Dewey Shelton and Clarice Pearrow Lamb. She was a homemaker and a member of Holmes Road Church of Christ in Memphis.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Donald C. "Ducky" Arwood of Cherokee Village; a son, Richard B. "Dickie" Arwood of Collierville, Tenn.; a daughter, Penny McKinney-Smith of Memphis; two brothers -- Dewey Lee Shelton of Proctor, and Jimmy Shelton of Nesbit, Miss; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Aug. 31 at Forest Hill South Funeral Home in Memphis. Burial followed in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Heath Oak Hill Chapel of Hardy.
