Billie Bert Chelsvig, 74, of Cherokee Village died Dec. 28, 2005, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
He was born on Feb. 23, 1931, in Des Plaines, Ill., the son of Bert Chelsvig and Mildred Walther Chelsvig.
He was a veteran of the United State Navy and served during the Korean War.
He was the former owner and broker of Amherst Realty in Des Plaines. He retired from K-Mart in Oceanside, Calif., before moving to Cherokee Village in 1994. Chelsvig was a lifetime member of BPOE, Highland Lodge 2539 and was a longtime collector of baseball cards.
Survivors include his wife, June, of the home; a daughter, Kim Kulik, and husband, Ed, of Wildomar, Calif.; a son, Jim Chelsvig, and wife, Karen, of South Elgin, Ill.; grandchildren, Sarah, Katie and David; stepdaughter, Diane Masey and husband, David, of Crystal Lake, Ill.; and five stepgrandchildren, Erin Bourquin and husband, Achile, Nathan, Lauren, Justin and Ryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service was held Dec. 31 at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel in Highland with Rev. Vern Forsberg officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
