Billy Burba, 72, of Cave City died Aug. 31, 2004, at a Memphis hospital.
Born Aug. 6, 1932, at Batesville, he was the son of Lola Gladys Burba. He was retired from Ideal Baking Company where he worked in building maintenance. He was also a carpenter and had worked at Batesville Stockyard at Charlotte. He was a member of Antioch Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons -- Larry Burba of Cave City and Bobby Burba of Batesville; five grandsons -- Ricky Burba of Heber Springs, Daniel Burba and Matthew Burba, both of Cave City, Brandon Burba and Jeremy Burba, both of Batesville; a granddaughter Amanda Burba of Cave City; two great-granddaughters -- Eliza Burba of Batesville, and Rebecca Buba of Heber Springs; a great-grandson, Cameron Burba of Batesville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gwendolyn Kilpatrick Burba; and a sister, Josephine Patterson.
The funeral was Sept. 3 at Antioch Church of Christ with Troy Henley and Royce Pendergrass officiating. Burial followed in Young Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ricky Burba, Brandon Burba Daniel Burba, Jeremy Burba, Don Henley and Steve Davis.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Seven King, Dr. Rush Shellabarger, Dr. Sandra Kaplan, Henry Farris and Raymond Barnett.
