Blanche Westmoreland Eason, 92, of Sidney died April 28, 2003, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born May 9, 1910, at Sidney, she was the daughter of Elmer and Fannie Arnn Westmoreland. She was a homemaker, a teacher, having taught at Peabody School House, west of Sidney, worked for Western Union in Kansas City, Mo., and was a member of Sidney Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Johnnie Battles of Sidney; a brother, Bill Westmoreland of Sidney; a sister, Maxine Spooner of Albuquerque, N.M.; seven grandchildren -- Jan Battles Wesley of Cave City, Timothy Battles and Conrad Battles, both of Cave City, Mark Spooner, Matthew Spooner and Sharon Spooner Hightower, all of Junction City, Ark., and Randy Spooner of Conway; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Barney Eason; a daughter, Jean Spooner; a brother, Fred Westmoreland; and two sisters -- Thelma Clem and Vona Rose.
The funeral was May 1 at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with David Wesley and the Rev. Rebecca Spooner officiating. Burial followed at Mount Carmel Cemetery at Sidney.
Pallbearers were Randy Spooner, Matthew Spooner, Mark Spooner, Timothy Battles, Conrad Battles and Keith Hightower.
Arrangements were by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
