Betty Jean Fisher, 76, of West Plains, Mo., died Feb. 7, 2003, at her home.
Born Sept. 3, 1926, at Fremont, Mo., she was the daughter of John Franklin and Nell Bailey Davis. She married John Leyland in February 1945. He preceded her in death. On May 3, 1985, she married Russell Lester Fisher at Hardy.
She was a licensed funeral director with McGee Funeral Home at Cherokee Village and owned the Ozark Acres Restaurant at Hardy. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband; four children and their spouses -- John and Kay Leyland of Corpus Christi, Texas, Dan and Phyllis Leyland of Sparta, Mo., Helen and Casus Baird of West Plains, and Dave Leyland of St. Joseph, Mo.; a setpson and his wife -- Scott K. and Carole Fisher of Jacksonville, Fla.; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Sharon Heibreder.
Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home at West Plains.
