Betty J. Meyers, 74, of Hardy died Feb 8, 2006, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem.
She was born on May 3, 1931, in Seneca, Wis., the daughter of Charles Walker and Anna White Walker. She was married to Floyd Meyers on Jan. 22, 1949, in Rockford, Ill. Floyd and Betty moved to Hardy 35 years ago from Illinois. Betty owned and operated the Hardy Cleaners for 30 years before retiring. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd Meyers of the home; two daughters, Susan and Tom Gray of Harvard, Ill., and Sally Lawton of Belvedere, Ill.; two brothers, Donald and Judy Walker of Roscoe, Ill., and Thomas and Audrey Walker of Wonderlake, Ill.; two sisters, Vivian Nystrom of Dacula, Ga., and Judy Walker of Rockford, Ill.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Charles Meyers; one daughter, Pamela Rae Meyers; one sister, Virginia Walker; and one son-in-law, Larry Lawton.
The funeral services were held Feb. 13 at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel in Highland with burial following in the Oaklawn Cemetery. Arrange-ments were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
