Beatrice L. Nau, age 92, of Governors Way, Maine, died June 14, 2006, at Amenity Manor.
She was born in Steubenville, Ohio, on May 19, 1914, daughter of Arthur L. A. and Florence E. (Lanning) Schneider.
She graduated from New Philadelphia High School in Ohio and attended The Milwaukee School of Cosmetology.
She married Paul R. Nau in Milwaukee on May 28, 1949.
A homemaker most of her life, Nau also worked as a hairdresser at the Charles of the Ritz Salon in Milwaukee and as a secretary at Wisconsin Motors. Later, she worked as a bookkeeper for the Maquoketa Iowa Public Schools. Upon returning to Milwaukee she worked as a hairdresser at House of Fashion. She retired with her husband to Cherokee Village.
Nau was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the United Methodist Church. She was a bowler, golfer and china painter.
Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Paul R. Nau of Topsham; her son, Paul A. Nau and his wife Luanna of Brunswick; her sister, Pauline Pede (wife of the late Rudolph Pede) of Muskego, Wisc.; and two grandchildren, George and Charles Nau.
She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Schneider; his wife, Gertrude; and her brother and sister, Vernon and Elizabeth Schneider.
Services will be held at a later date in Milwaukee. Arrangements are by The Brackett Funeral Home of Brunswick, Maine.
