Buford Ray "B.R." Evans, 72, of Hardy died Dec. 30, 2003, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born Oct. 10, 1931, in Hardy, he was the son of Fred Kerry and Eva Armstrong Evans. The Evans family moved to Sharp County in the 1850s. He was the fourth of six generations residing in the Hardy area. He worked for 31 years for John A. Cooper in Cherokee Village. He also worked for six years for Cherokee Frame Factory.
Survivors include his son, Kerry Wayne Evans; three daughters -- Tammy and David Stone, Tirena Boothe and Robin Evans, and Anna Bell Evans, all of Hardy; nine grandchildren -- Justin, Kyle, Hea-ther, Kayla Jo, Jake, Kelly, Allison, Dylan and David; and three brothers -- Otho, Haden and Doyle Evans, all of Hardy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Eva Evans; three daughters -- Kimberly, Barbara and Katie; and three brothers -- Frankie Evans, Trusho Wiles and Linsley Wiles.
The funeral was Jan. 1 at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel with Floyd Rikard officiating. Burial followed in Hersburger Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-
County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
Pallbearers were Bill Lowe, Bob Bradley, Bob Murphy, Brad Fortuna, Gary Russell, Larry Swetnam, Euin Mullins, Tom Thornton, David Cochran, Don Morgan and Bob Morgan.
