Williams Lynn Caruthers, 89, of Cherokee Village died April 3, 2002, at Eastern Ozarks Regional Health System in Cherokee Village.
Born June 29, 1912, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., he was the son of Judge J. Henry Caruthers and Corinne Cashion Caruthers. He attended Washington University and the University of Missouri where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He was a former member of the Cape Girardeau and Cherokee Village Lions clubs. He was an avid golfer, hunter and bridge player. He was a member of Spring River Presbyterian Church.
He married Eileen Slinkard Oct. 29, 1937. He retired from DeKalb Agriculture Association in 1972 and moved to Cherokee Village.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years; a daughter and son-in-law -- Sharon and Donald Spellman of Norris, Tenn.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Robert D. Caruthers of Wilton, Conn.
No services are planned.
Memorials may be made to Spring River Presbyterian Church, Alzheimer's Disease Research or the Arkansas Sheriff's Youth Ranches.
