Cornelius Arvey "Nick" Brunson, 84, of Hardy died Feb. 19, 2003, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

Born Jan. 1, 1910, in Stewart, Okla., he was the son of Joseph and Mary Jane Abney Brunson. He was a resident of Fulton County for 35 years.

He married Ruth Lorene Dean in 1939 in West Memphis.

He served with the U.S. Army for 20 years, having served in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. After retiring from the Army he established L&N Engine Shop in Hardy.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Carrol Gee of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandchildren -- Matthew Gee and Melissa Koehler; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral was Feb. 22 in the Higginbotham Chapel in Hardy with the Rev. Floyd Rickard officiating. Burial followed in Shiloh Cemetery at Saddle.

Arrangements were under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service Inc. of Hardy.
