Coy B. Thomas, 86, of Desha died May 24, 2003, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born June 15, 1916, at Myron, he was the son of Frank Breckenridge and Isabell Berry Thomas. He was a retired construction worker and a member of Desha United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalie Crumley Thomas of the home; a son, Ron Thomas of Batesville; two daughters -- Patricia Lee Thomas of Desha, and Frances Whitley of Hardy; a sister, Edna Pierson of Evening Shade; two grandsons -- Shawn Thomas and Joshua Thomas, both of Batesville; a granddaughter, Paula Lopez of Hardy; two great-granddaughters -- Samantha Lopez and Sabrina Lopez, both of Hardy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roy Thomas; and three sisters -- Floy Welch, Adna Dickerson and Phoeba Estes.
The funeral was May 27 at Desha United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Ludwig officiating. Burial followed in Alderbrook Cemetery at Desha. Arrangements were by Qualls Funeral Services of Batesville.
Pallbearers were Bill Lewis, Michael Lewis, Shorty Coles, Carrol Mohlke, James Donald Wheeler and Van D. Sawyer.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy Pearce, Tommy Crumley, Sonny James, Kenneth Nash, Buddy Williams, Wilbur Smith, Charles Insell, Gaylon Franks, R.C. Keller, Jerry Harmon, Dr. James Harbin and Dr. Bob Walton.
