Conway Crabtree, 77, of Cave City died Nov. 28, 2006, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
He was born Aug. 12, 1929, at Cave City to Winslow and Lela (Girtman) Crabtree.
He was employed by the Sharp County Road Department for 15 years and served as a Sharp County committeeman for 25 years.
He was a lifelong farmer as well as a carpenter and merchant. He was an avid baseball and basketball fan and supported the Cave City Cavemen for many years. He was a member of the Mount View Missionary Baptist Church at Cave City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cecil Crabtree and Clifton Crabtree; and one sister, Sybil Burge.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Anna Beth (Townsley) Crabtree; one son, Samuel Ted Crabtree of Cave City; one daughter, Brenda Kay (Crabtree) Bristow of Batesville; two granddaughters, Samantha (Crabtree) Johnson of Oxford and Jennifer Crabtree of Little Rock; several nieces and nephews; and host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Dec. 1 at the Mount View Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Vance Penn and Bro. Grayden Milligan officiating. Burial followed in the Mount View Cemetery, with arrangements under the direction of the Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Bryan Ross, Jerry Crabtree, David Townsley, Kurt Meskimen, Roy Provence, Russell Fowler, Alan Brucher and Jim Hansen.
Honorary pallbearers were Alan Ross and Boots Grissell.
