Clyde H. Johnson, 70, of Grenada, Miss., died Jan. 20, 2003, at Eastern Ozarks Regional Health System in Cherokee Village.
Born Nov. 29, 1932, in Yelobusha, Miss., he was the son of Malcomb Johnson and Mattie Mae Stepp Johnson. He worked many years as a photographer and as a cattleman. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and of the United States Army. He was also a member of the VFW in Grenada. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Grenada.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Johnson; two daughters -- Reo Fran Strider of Grenada and Karen Dell Sinclair of Loganville, Ga.; two sisters -- Vivian Purdy of Coffeeville, Miss., and Linda Simmons of Rhode Island; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bobby Johnson.
A memorial service was Jan. 24 at Garner Harper Funeral Home in Grenada with Dr. Bob Self officiating. Local arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund in Grenada.
