Claud K. Estes, 84, of Armona, Calif., died May 6, 2006.
He was born on Aug. 4, 1921, son of the late Harve and Lou Estes in Ash Flat. He was the youngest of nine children.
He served in the U.S. Army-Air Corps during World War II. He was a school teacher at Armona Union Elementary School, retiring after 27 years.
He was a life member of Hanford Masonic Lodge 279 F&AM and was a Hiram Award Recipient; Hanford No. 74 Royal Arch Masons, Visalia Council 43, Hanford Commandry 46 Knights Templar, a 32nd Scottish Rite Mason and a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Armona.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Willene; three sons, Glenn and wife, Karen, of Armona, John and wife, Mary, of Lemoore, Calif., and Phillip and wife, Renee, of Hanford, Calif.; five grandchildren, Claudia K. Hodson and husband, Eric, of Armona, Michele Mendes and husband, Ed, of Lemoore, Roger Estes and his wife, Liz, of Lemoore, Carrie Aila and husband, Leroy of Sonora and Ryan Estes and wife, Kelly, of Hanford; two stepgrandchildren, Stacie Acquistapachi and husband, J.R., of Kileen, Texas, and Justin Miller of Hanford; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ota Manry of Hanford;
He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Bill and Jill Anne Estes of Amona.
Graveside services were held at the Grangeville Cemetery in Armona, Calif.
