Carol Lucille Campbell, 77, of Jonesboro, Ark., formerly of Cherokee Village, died June 13, 2005, in Jonesboro.
She was born April 14, 1928, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Truman and Lucille Husted Ingham.
She worked many years as a gardener and for Wal-Mart in the garden center. She loved to read good novels and the newspaper. She also was an avid fan of the Antique Road Show program and Nascar racing. She was a member of Nettleton Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Lynne Smith of Jonesboro; two sons -- Eric Scott Campbell of Vermillion, S.D., and Curtis Ian Campbell of Jonesboro; five grandchildren -- John Scott Campbell, Jennifer Campbell, Christy McCollum, Coles Campbell and Gary Allen Smith; and five great-grandchildren -- Christian Campbell, Danielle McCollum, Whitney Garrett and Justin and Chris Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Walter Scott Campbell.
There are no services planned at this time. Interment will be in the Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
