Clyde Doyle Pickett, 78, of Williford, formerly of Ravenden, died Feb. 15, 2003, at his residence.
Born Nov. 22, 1924, he was the son of Herbert Calvin and Myrtle Wade Pickett. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. He was a Third Degree Mason with the Ravenden Masonic Lodge 451 and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Annieville.
Survivors include four daughters -- Darlene Dearen of Imboden, Linda Briggs of West Plains, Mo., Connie Morgan of Pocahontas, Rhonda Despain of Williford; five sons -- Bruce and Calvin Pickett, both of Williford, Kenneth Pickett of Conway, Doyle Pickett of Ash Flat, and Phillip Pickett of Highland; a sister, Juanita Bettis of Kansas City, Mo.; 25 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters -- Donna Callahan and Patty Pickett; and a sister, Modell Taylor.
The funeral was Feb. 19 at Higginbotham Funeral Chapel in Hardy with Jerry Clements officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Jesup.
Pallbearers were A.D. Booth, Jim Rutledge, Lewis Booth, Jerry Despain, Red Campbell and Donald Taylor.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Higginbotham Funeral Service in Hardy.
