Charles Piper, 72, of Cherokee Village died March 6, 2005, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem.
Born Aug. 15, 1932, he was the son of Charles W. Piper and Bertha Frost Piper.
He was married to Nancy Piper and was an engineer.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from June 1951 to June 18, 1955.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Piper; a son, Keith Piper of St. Louis; two daughters -- Deborah Tesch of Rapid City, S.D., and Carol DeSimone of Breese, Ill.; a sister, Joan Hamrick of Jasper, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. March 20 at Cherokee Village Lutheran Church with the Rev. Joan Ewaldsen officiating. Burial was in Cherokee Village Lutheran Columbarium with arrangements by Heath Funeral Home of Hardy.
