Catherine Clarke Russell, 81, died March 10, 2005, at her home.

Born June 8, 1923, at Hardy, she was the daughter Edmund Stillman and Mary Rosalie Rudisaile Clarke.

She was a member of Saddle Baptist Church, Fulton County Extension Homemakers and Nine Mike Ridge Auxiliary. Her hobbies were making quilts, decorating cakes, making gardens and playing games with her friends and family.

She was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Russell, Dec. 24, 1941, at Hardy. To this union nine children were born.

Survivors include three sons -- Robert L. (Kay) Russell of Hardy, Floyd E. Russell of Mountain Home, and John E. (Anita) Russell of Mustang, Okla.; four daughters -- Ann (Bill) Reynolds, and Linda Fox, all of Hardy, Sandy (Darrell) Carpenter and Robin (Bob) Norris, both of Ash Flat; two brothers -- Paul Clarke of West Plains, Mo., and Ervin Clarke of Lexa, Ark.; a sister, Rose Edna Clarke French of Mammoth Spring; five sisters-in-law -- Pearl Clarke and Lois Russell, both of Hardy, Nona Strong of West Plains, Dorothy Russell Badgro of South Bend, Ind., and Jean Russell of Jonesboro; two brothers-in-law -- Jerry (Jackie) Russell and Bill (Maxine) Russell both of Hardy; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob F. Russell, two sons -- Thomas Clarke Russell and Baby Russell; a grandson, William Reynolds; a granddaughter, Melissa Russell; her parents -- Edmond and Mary Rudisaile Clarke; brothers -- Bryan, Charles Joe, Bill and Ronny Clarke; and a sister, Rachel Clarke Johnson.

The funeral was March 12 at Heath Oak Hill Chapel of Hardy, with O.C. Wright and Jim Handley officiating. Burial was in the Hersperger Cemetery in Fulton County.

Pallbearers were grandsons -- Randy Russell, Eric Reynolds, Richard Goodman, Steven Norris, Jeremy Russell, Aarron Goodman, Russell Goodman, Clayton Smith, Jacob Russell and Evan Russell.

Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters -- Cathy Murphy, Patricia Dailey, Carla Jennings, Marla Carpenter, Joline Staley, Emily Russell and Rebecca Russell.
