Clifford Stewart

Clifford Stewart, 75, died Oct. 20, 2004, in Midway Medical Clinic at Highland.

Born in Harlan, Ky., he was the son of Conrad and Beulah Martin Stewart. He worked as a paper salesman for the graphic arts industry before retiring to Cherokee Village. He was a member of Cherokee Village First Baptist Church, Omaha Health and Fitness Center, Cherokee Village Men's Golf Association and Cherokee Village Seniors Bowling League.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret "Peg" MacNeil Stewart; a daughter, Darbye Stewart of Jackson, Mich.; two brothers -- Conrad Stewart of Peoria, Ill., and Frank Stewart of Thayer, Mo.; a sister, Geraldine Shaffer of Cleveland, Ohio; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Minnie Rodencik; and a brother, Sanford Steward.

Stewart's body was donated to the University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock for medical research.

A memorial service was Oct. 25 at First Baptist Church in Cherokee Village with Dr. Larry White officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Cherokee Village First Baptist Church Building Fund.
