Dessie Wooldridge, age 97, of Cave City died Aug. 17, 2006, at the Cave City Nursing Home.
She was born Jan. 18, 1909, at Emery, Ark., the daughter of the late Emery Ely and Nancy Ethel (Runsick) Rodgers. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cave City Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Randy Wooldridge of Carmel, Ind.; one daughter, Noma Gammill of Cave City; one brother, Coleman Rodgers of Detroit, Mich.; two sisters, Devona Mount of Batesville, and Zela Mae Howard of Cave City; three grandchildren, Preston Cole of Red Oak, Texas, Lori Carpenter of Ash Flat, and Cheryl Estes of Maumelle; 10 great-grandchildren, Michia French of Little Rock, Jenna Estes of Buffalo, N.Y., Christopher Wooldridge of Carmel, Ind., Jessica Estes of Conway, Molly Carpenter of Ash Flat, Ashley Cole of Red Oak, Texas, Mart Carpenter of Ash Flat, Sarah Wooldridge of Carmel, Ind., John Cole and Aaron Cole, both of Red Oak, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Columbus Wooldridge; one son, Thomas (Bob) Woodridge; three brothers, Bernard Rodgers, Melton Rodgers and Charles D. Rodgers.
The funeral services were held Aug. 20 at the Cave City Church of Christ with Dean Fugett and Keith Gregson officiating. Burial followed in the Cave City Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were her nephews.
