Delores J. Hiles, 70, of Cave City died Oct. 27, 2004, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born May 31, 1934, in Grantville, Kan., she was the daughter of Everett Alvin and Pearl Oletha Hudson Alfrey. She was a homemaker and enjoyed truck driving for several years, crocheting, flowers and spending time with her family. She was a member of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church located at the Cedar Grove Community.
Survivors include her husband, Carroll Hiles of the home; her mother, Pearl Oletha Alfrey of Topeka, Kan.; a son, Dennis Hiles of Calico Rock; four daughters -- Tammy Whitaker of Cave City, Kathy Cooper of Gassville, Karen Jones of Calico Rock, and Cleta Beck of Yellville; two brothers -- Randy Alfrey of Topeka, and David Alfrey of Altaloma, Calif.; a sister, Cheryl Simpson of Meridian, Kan.; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was Oct. 30 at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Carroll Kinley officiating. Burial followed in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery north of Batesville. Arrangements were under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Charles Jones, Kevin Jones, Mark Whitaker, Eric Simpson, Mike Beck and Rick Hiles.
Honorary pallbearer was Bill Cooper
