David Arnold Johann Sr., 51, of Cherokee Village died Oct. 22, 2003, near Jonesboro.
He was born Aug. 20, 1952, in Rockford, Ill., where he had lived prior to moving to Pleasant Plains. After living in Pleasant Plains for 10 years he moved to Cherokee Village where he lived for the past 11 years. He was an owner/truck driver until his retirement. He was a member of the Wilson Masonic Lodge a Hardy.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Johann of the home; a daughter, Dana Stanfel, of Lake City; a son, David Johan Jr. of Black Rock; his mother, Audrey Johnson of Rockford; two brothers -- James Johann of Roscoe, Ill., and Cliff Johann of Walnut Ridge; four sisters -- Grace Replogle of New Millford, Ill.; Sandra Olson of Rockford.; Nancy Nancy of Bulls Gap, Tenn.; Cathy Pope of Rockford; two stepbrothers -- Jerry Johnson of Macon, Ga., and Jeff Johnson of Ontario, Canada; two grandchildren -- Dustin Andrew Johann and Devaron Wes Aiern Stanfel.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Johann Sr.; his stepfather, Leroy Johnson; a sister, Mary Ann Johann; and a brother, Herman "Butch" Johann.
A graveside service was Oct. 25 at Oak Forest Cemetery with Brian Pummill officiating. Burial followed at Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock. Masonic Rites were afforded at the grave site.
Pallbearers were Brian Waire, J.D. Sample, Larry Sample, Shane Brower and Archie Hall.
