Delbert Keith Bigsby, 81, of Horseshoe Bend died Aug. 10, 2004, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem.
Born Sept. 28, 1922, in Wautoma, Wis., he was the son of Harry and Essie Evans Bigsby. He married Betty Fisher in 1944, who preceded him in death, and later married Edna Fanger in 1973.
He served the country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church, Turkey Mountain Golf Club, Masonic Temple, Shrine Temple and Wisconsin Club. He served with various other organizations.
Survivors include two sons -- Dennis Bigsby and his wife, Janice, of Waukesha, Wis., and Gary Bigsby and his wife, Barbara, of Sussex, Wis.; three stepdaughters -- Barbara Lovan and her husband, Richard, of Manchester, Mo., Susan Orr and her husband, Jack, of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Debra Lewis and her husband, John, of Manchester, Md.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, two brothers -- Lyle Bigsby and Lloyd Bigsby; a grandchild; and two sisters -- Stella Bigsby and Vira Bigsby.
A memorial service was held Aug. 12 at Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church with Mark Ashcraft officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel of Horseshoe Bend.
