Delbert P. Medlock, 67, of Hardy died Oct. 5, 2003, at Eastern Ozarks Regional Health System in Cherokee Village.
Born May 30, 1936, in Center, he was the son of Lacie Olden Medlock and Eletta May Fleming Medlock. He was united in marriage to Jimmie Fay Cagle July 6, 1959, in Caraway, Ark.
He was a carpenter by trade and worked for six years in California. He worked the last 32 years in Sharp County. He was a Christian and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Fay Medlock of the home; two sons -- Nathan and Wava Medlock of Jonesboro, and Zane Medlock of Hardy; his mother, Eletta May Medlock of Hardy; three brothers -- L.F. Medlock of Hardy, Eddie Medlock of Glencoe, and Larry Medlock of Black Rock; seven sisters -- Lois Dowdy of Jonesboro, Bernice Parish of Walnut Ridge, Carlyn Conley of Black Rock, Kay Collins of Ravenden, Judith Rutledge of Imboden, Diane Collins of Hardy, and Joyce Medlock of Cherokee Village; three grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lacie Olden Medlock; and two brothers -- Wayne and Eulas Medlock.
The funeral was Oct. 8 at Ash Flat Community Church of Christ with Jack Richardson officiating. Burial was in Maxwell Cemetery near Evening Shade with arrangements under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Cherokee Village.
