Darlene Marie Powell, 46, of Red Rock, Okla., formerly of Hardy died July 27, 2005, near Ponca City, Okla., she was born May 21, 1959, in Mammoth Spring the daughter of Sherman Thomas Wells and Letha (Ernst) Wells.
She graduated from Highland High School in 1978. She worked as an assistant manager for Kentucky Fried Chicken in Oklahoma. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy Powell of the home; her mother, Letha Ernst Wells of Hardy; one son and his wife, Doug and Sarah Duncan Powell of Springdale, Ark.; two daughters and their husbands -- Lisa and T.Z. Reyes of Ponca City, Okla., and Debby and Anthony Minick of Newkirk, Okla.; two brothers and their wives -- Jessie T. and Audrae Wells of Hardy, and Steve L. and Robin Wells of Ozark Acres; two sisters -- Dian Harmon of Weatherford, Texas, and Elaine Truycano of Fenton, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sherman Thomas Wells.
Graveside services were held July 30 at the Wells Cemetery on Banks Road near Hardy with Bro. Floyd Rikard officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
