Darrell Gene Rogers, 59, of Cave City died May 19, 2002, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born Nov. 21, 1942, at Cave City, he was the son of Herbert and Ruby Boles Rogers. He was a truck driver and diesel mechanic for many years before becoming disabled.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Derlene Bristow Rogers; a son, Dennis Rogers of Cave City; a daughter and son-in-law -- Karen and Tim Palmer of Cave City; two granddaughters -- Cesiley Rogers and Julie Beth Rogers, both of Batesville; a grandson, Dalton Palmer of Cave City; three sister -- Audrey Hatfield, Mary Lou Wren and Pearl Davis, all of Cave City; and two brothers -- Harold Dean Rogers of Evening Shade, and Billy Joe Rogers of Newport.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral was May 22 at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Wayne Goodman and George Wright officiating. Burial followed in Maxville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Mobley, Richard Cruthis, Keith Mize, Calvin "Red" Lassiter, Lanny Mobley and Craig Porter.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. J.D. Allen, "Pop" McCormack, Jerry Sandy, Johnny Sandy and Eddie Fairfield.
Arrangements were under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
