Elwood A. Snowden, 92, of Ash Flat died April 1, 2006, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
He was born on Feb. 10, 1914, to Bink and Alice Hoagland Snowden at LeMoore, Calif.
He was an oil field machinist for many years. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and Elks Club in Taft, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, Leota Snowden of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Martha and Jim Westmoreland of Horseshoe Bend; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jim Vowles of Gainesville, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Thelma Clark.
The funeral services were held April 6 at 2 p.m. at the Horseshoe Bend Memorial chapel with Rev. Leonard Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Evening Shadows Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Shawn Yount, Joe Yount, Larry Beckman, Jeff Snowden, Jeffrey Snowden and Roger Smith.
Arrangements were under the direction of Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.
