Enon Moses Montgomery, 88, of Cave City died Nov. 1, 2003, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born Feb. 20, 1915, in Sandtown, he was the son of Moses D. and Sallie Mayhue Montgomery. He served in the U.S. Navy in 1945 and was a farmer before retiring from International Shoe Company. He was a member of Curia Masonic Lodge 144 and Cave City First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Elsie Wilkerson Montgomery; a son, Ronald Montgomery of Conway; four daughters -- Mary Sauve-Mizer of Midland, Mich., Evelyn Johnson of Cave City, Lynda Qualls of Little Rock, and Patricia Poret of White Hall; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald Montgomery; a grandson, Nicholas Sauve; four sisters -- Maude Tugwell, Leah Barnett, Pauline Girtman and Elizabeth Montgomery; and three brothers -- Willie Montgomery, Ezra Montgomery and Bennie Montgomery.
The funeral was Nov. 4 at Cave City First United Methodist Church with Russell Kelly, Robert Kelly and Wayne Johnson officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery east of Cave City. Arrange-ments were under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Michael Carpenter, Richard Carpenter, Dustin Johnson, Mark Johnson, Tommy Moser, L.C. Qualls, Jason Montgomery, Josh Montgomery, Michael Sauve, Jeff Sauve, Paul Sauve and David Montgomery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cave City First United Methodist Church.
