Ella Mae Scheschi, 88, of Cherokee Village died Aug. 26, 2006, at Eaglecrest Nursing and Rehab in Ash Flat.
She was born June 20, 1918, in Green Bay, Wis., the daughter of the late Nels and Anna McKeague Hendrickson. She served as a professor at St. Norbert's College in De Pere, Wis., and teacher at the following elementary schools in Wisconsin: Sturgeon Bay, Seymour and West De Pere. She was also a social worker for family services in Green Bay.
In 1995 she moved from Milwaukee to Cherokee Village where she was a reader for the grade school and worked with the literacy program. She was a member of the Spring River Presbyterian Church and the womens' water aerobic exercise club.
Surviving her are two sons, Joseph Scheschi, and David (and Sally) Scheschi all of Cherokee Village; one daughter, Sara Seidner of Goldsboro, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norbert; a son, Norbert (Doc) Scheschi; and a grandson, Jamie Scheschi.
The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to Eaglecrest Nursing and Rehab in Ash Flat or Spring River Presbyterian Church in Hardy.
Memorial services were held Sept. 3 at the Spring River Presbyterian Church in Hardy with Rev. Stan Jagow officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland. .
